Panda London

Sleep well. Ship well.

Panda London has been making bamboo mattresses, pillows and bedding since 2015, with a hybrid bamboo mattress at the heart of the range, 100-night trials and awards from T3, Ideal Home and The Independent. It sells from pandalondon.com in around fifty currencies, through its own German store, and through marketplaces and major retailers. Pivotal works with Panda's finance and operations team on the systems behind the brand: Linnworks, stock forecasting and the wholesale side of the business.

The Pivotal team at Panda London's warehouse in Colindale

The Opportunity

A sleep brand that sells direct, to retailers and on marketplaces is really three businesses sharing one warehouse. Stock arrives by the container, orders leave in every direction, and the finance and operations teams need one true picture of what is in stock, what is coming and what to order next. Panda wanted a partner who would come and see how the warehouse really runs, then fix what slowed it down.

The Visit

Starting on the warehouse floor. We spent a day at Panda's warehouse in Colindale with its finance director and head of operations, following orders from Linnworks through picking and packing to the dispatch label, and working through issues on the spot. We came away with a list of what to fix first, agreed with the people who live with it every day.

The Forecasting

Buying from a forecast, not a hunch. We rolled out Inventory Planner connected to Linnworks, so sales from every channel feed one forecast, and trained Panda's team through six hands-on sessions: purchase and transfer orders, scaling orders to fill a container, forecasting wholesale demand alongside online sales, and the reports that tell them what to reorder.

Wholesale, mapped out. With Panda's finance director we mapped how wholesale invoicing and customer price lists could flow from their order data into their accounts automatically, ready for the business to build when the time is right.

The Results

Panda's team plans stock from one forecast fed by every channel, with purchase orders sized to fill a container and wholesale demand counted alongside online sales. The relationship went beyond the brief, too: Panda's head of operations joined our panel on everywhere commerce at Pivotal's Summit, alongside Linnworks and Inventory Planner.
