A Spotlight on Will Butler-Adams: Leadership, Impact and a Voice We Were Proud to Host
Some people remind you what business can be at its best. Purpose-led. Globally minded. Human.
Will Butler-Adams is one of those people, and we were proud to welcome him as a guest speaker at our very first Summit Base Camp event.
As CEO of Brompton Bicycle, Will has spent more than two decades helping grow one of the UK’s most recognisable brands. He joined Brompton in 2002 and became Group CEO in 2008, leading the business through years of growth while keeping values, people and purpose at the centre of the business.
His recent post about joining a UK–China business delegation captured exactly why his voice resonates so strongly. He spoke about the responsibility businesses have beyond profit, the importance of global collaboration, and the role Brompton has played in bringing health and happiness to people across the world. It was thoughtful, grounded and quietly powerful.
That same mindset is what he brought to the stage at Summit Base Camp.
From Podcast to Stage
Before Summit Base Camp, Will joined our CEO, Tait Pollack, on the Pivotal Moments podcast.
In Episode 3: Will Butler-Adams on Growing Brompton Bicycle from 27 Staff to 800 Strong, Will shared the story behind Brompton’s growth, the leadership decisions that shaped the company, and what it really takes to build something that lasts.
You can listen to the episode here.
Hearing his perspective ahead of the event made his appearance at Summit Base Camp even more meaningful. It felt like a continuation of a conversation rather than a one-off moment.
A Speaker Who Embodies Purpose-Led Leadership
Summit Base Camp was created as a space for honest conversations, shared learning and leadership rooted in reality. Inviting Will to speak was a natural fit.
His journey is not about quick wins or shortcuts. It is about long-term thinking, values-led growth and building something that genuinely lasts. From growing Brompton’s team to scaling the business globally, his story is a reminder that scale and integrity can go hand in hand.
A Moment We Are Proud Of
Summit Base Camp was the first event of its kind for us, and having Will as part of it made the day even more special. His perspective reminded us why purpose matters and how leadership can have impact far beyond a single organisation.

We are proud to have hosted Will, and grateful for the insight he shared with our community.
