Success Story

Governors For Schools

Governors for Schools connects skilled volunteers with schools in need of strong governance, but their digital tools hadn’t kept up with the scale of their impact. From course enrolments to volunteer applications, the user experience was fragmented and difficult to manage. Admins struggled with limited form flexibility, learners needed better visibility on their progress, and the team lacked a smooth connection between their website and CRM. That’s where Pivotal came in. We streamlined everything, giving both users and staff a platform that just works.

Less admin. More impact.

Faster Onboarding

Smarter Learning

Connected Data

"We work with thousands of volunteers across the country, and the process of applying, learning, and staying engaged has to be simple, secure, and supportive. Pivotal understood that. They work with us to develop our website so that our users have the clarity and confidence to take the next step. It’s smart, reliable, and reflects the professionalism we aim for in everything we do."

— Hannah Stolton, CEO, Governors for Schools

The Opportunity

Governors for Schools needed a platform that could match their ambition. They offer high-quality training and match volunteers to school governor roles — but behind the scenes, things were clunky. Admins had no easy way to manage different application forms. Courses were hosted in LearnDash but lacked proper tracking and certification logic. Users couldn’t clearly see their learning journey or progress. Meanwhile, the site’s integration with their CRM was patchy, and managing WordPress security was a constant overhead. It was time to turn a piecemeal setup into a coherent system.

The Solution

Pivotal brought everything under one roof. We implemented a dynamic form management system, allowing the admin team to create and update application flows without developer input. We designed a clean Vue.js dashboard so users could manage their accounts, view their application progress, and track course enrolments all in one place. On the course side, we deeply integrated LearnDash — adding support for paid courses, enabling certification on completion, and making it easy to import interactive modules. The LearnDash user dashboard was customised to reflect enrolled, completed, and available courses. Behind the scenes, we hardened the WordPress instance with security best practices and built a robust API connection between the site and CRM — so data flowed securely and reliably between systems.

The Results

The platform now supports Governors for Schools with less manual effort and more confidence. Admins can adapt forms and workflows on the fly. Users know where they stand at every step of the application or learning process. Course tracking, certification, and payment handling all run smoothly — giving the organisation a more professional, reliable digital presence. Most importantly, the tech now supports the mission — connecting more volunteers with schools, faster and with less friction.
