Supporting the Next Generation: Our Sponsorship of Basketball in the Community

Supporting local talent and positive community initiatives has always been important to us. That is why our continued sponsorship of Basketball in the Community (BBITC), which began in 2022, means so much. BBITC has grown into a cornerstone of youth sport in Norwich, with more than 200 players now taking part every week.

Founded in 2009, BBITC began with just a single weekly session for a handful of children who wanted to learn the game. Today, it supports more than 200 members every week across more than 10 sessions. From beginners picking up a ball for the first time to young players developing advanced technical and tactical skills, BBITC creates opportunities for growth that go far beyond the court.

Why BBITC Matters

BBITC is built on a simple but powerful mission: to provide the best possible basketball education for players, coaches and referees. Their coaching pathway is especially impressive. Many of their current coaches started out as young players in the programme, progressed through training, and are now helping shape the next generation. It is a full-circle system that strengthens both the organisation and the wider community.

The sessions themselves focus on far more than drills and gameplay. They encourage teamwork, communication, discipline and confidence, blending technical progression with an environment that is welcoming, energetic and fun. BBITC shows exactly what community sport can be when passion and purpose come together.

Why We’re Proud to Support Them

At Pivotal, we believe in backing organisations that create real opportunities for people to grow. BBITC is doing exactly that. Their commitment to youth development, local engagement and accessible sport aligns closely with our own values as a team and as a business.

Our sponsorship helps support the continued development of coaching programmes, equipment, and the growth of community sessions for young athletes across Norwich. It is a privilege to play even a small part in helping BBITC reach more young players and expand the work they are already doing so well.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited to be supporting BBITC through the year and to see the impact this partnership continues to create. Whether it is building confidence in young players, training the next generation of coaches, or giving more children access to high-quality sport, BBITC is making a genuine difference.

We are proud to stand behind an organisation that brings people together and helps young athletes grow on and off the court.
