More Than Just a Marathon
This year, Tait will be taking on a sponsored marathon in support of The Feed.
It is a significant physical challenge. But for him, the meaning behind it goes far beyond the distance.
A few years ago, after his second AstraZeneca jab, Tait developed blood clots and a pulmonary embolism. It came without warning and had a lasting impact, both physically and mentally. Recovery was slow, and at times uncertain. It forced him to stop, to reassess, and to rebuild in ways he never expected.
Since then, running has become part of that rebuilding process. Not all at once, and not easily, but gradually. What started as small steps became something more meaningful. This marathon is a milestone in that journey, and a chance to turn something deeply personal into something that can help others too.
Supporting The Feed is a natural part of that.
Why This Matters
Tait grew up in a single parent household, raised by his mum on a council estate. She worked hard to provide stability and dignity, despite having very little. That experience never leaves you. It shapes how you see community, support, and what it means to have access to the basics.
The Feed exists to provide exactly that kind of support today.
Their mission is to empower communities across Norwich through the power of food, helping people eat well, live well, and feel connected. Their Social Supermarket and Community Café offer affordable food, dignity, choice, and a place where people feel welcome.
In 2025 alone, over 1,000 households accessed their services. More than 23,000 kilos of fresh food and essentials were distributed free to members, and hundreds of individuals and families received one to one support and guidance.
This work is vital. Norfolk has the highest malnutrition rate in England, and many families in Norwich are facing real and immediate challenges. The Feed provides practical help that makes a genuine difference in people’s lives.
Why Pivotal Supports The Feed
Pivotal is proud to be a Friend of The Feed, committing each year to help fund and support their work.
This is a partnership we care deeply about. Their approach is simple and human. Meeting people where they are, providing food, connection, support, and hope. We have seen first-hand the impact they have across our city, and we are committed to helping them continue that work.
Why This Marathon Is Personal
For Tait, taking on this marathon is a milestone. It marks how far he has come since his health scare; it is a reminder of what it means to rebuild, physically and mentally, and not take that progress for granted.
Supporting The Feed makes sense to him. Their work reflects the kind of support he knows can make a real difference. If this challenge can raise funds that help families in Norwich access good food and practical help, that is what matters most.
How You Can Help
If you’re able to sponsor Tait’s marathon, your donation will directly support The Feed and the vital work they do across Norwich, you can find the site here.
£1,000 funds a full month of fresh fruit and vegetables for the Social Supermarket. Every contribution helps make that possible. Learn more about the feed here.
If donating isn’t possible, sharing this story can make a huge difference too.
Because progress, whether personal or collective, rarely happens all at once. It happens gradually. One step at a time.
