Four Reasons to Consider a Comprehensive Website Redesign

Every now and again, it’s important to take a step back and carefully consider your website.  Over time, the quality and even the performance of every website may begin to deteriorate.  The question being – when does the time had come to undertake a comprehensive redesign for your website?

The answer of course depends entirely on the nature of your business, how long it has been since your website was updated, its current performance/quality and so on.  Nevertheless, there are a few very important reasons, which if identified should be considered justification for a full website redesign.

Which are as follows:

1) Your Site Is Old and Outdated

The simple fact of the matter is that if your website doesn’t look or perform as flawlessly as is expected these days, it’s time for an overhaul.  Websites that looked stunning and performed perfectly back in 2007 simply aren’t up to scratch by 2019 standards.  If you personally believe that your website looks old and outdated, you need to think carefully about how it is being interpreted by your target audience, too.

2) Your Website Isn’t Producing the Results You Want

Whichever way you look at it, and your website exists for a reason.  Whatever this reason is may be different from one business to the next, but you still one had and have a primary purpose for your website.  Increasing sales, boosting brand image and authority, attracting subscribers and so on – all very valid reasons for owning and operating a website. Nevertheless, there’s little to gain by running a website that isn’t producing the results you want.  When this is the case, you have an asset all very limited value that could do with being overhauled.

3) Your Website Isn’t Mobile-Friendly

Given the fact that mobile traffic has already overtaken desktop traffic in most consumer arenas, the importance of not while friendliness cannot be overstated.  You need to be brutally honest with yourself and determine whether or not your website genuinely provides mobile users with a flawless user-experience.  If you cannot say this with total confidence, your site could be painting a negative picture about your business in general.  These days, flawless mobile friendliness and functionality is considered the only acceptable standard.

4) Your Competitor Has Updated Their Website

Last but not least, you can’t honestly expect to get ahead of the competition and stay there if you allow your website to fall behind.  If it’s become clear that one or more of your competitors have updated their website with the latest consumer trends and preferences in mind, it’s of critical importance that you do the same.  Lacklustre websites communicate little other than a lack of professionalism, lack of commitment and lack of appeal as far as consumers in general are concerned.
