The technology uses the built in camera on a laptop to triangulate with your two pupils where you are looking in relation to itself. This allows the software to measure how long your eyes stay fixed on various elements within a web page and generate heat-maps.

The findings show that after watching many thousands of visitors use Google's search engine results, it is only really the top five or so rankings which get looked at, let alone clicked. These results, when correlated against mouse movement heat-maps show very similar findings which shows users are moving the mouse where they are looking.

The conclusion here is that without any doubt, serious consideration should be placed on where your website appears in the SERPS (search engine page results).
