While functional, Notcutts' existing online platform fell short of the dynamic needs of modern consumers and the operational agility required in today's fast-paced retail environment. The platform struggled with outdated infrastructure that limited customisation and real-time data integration, crucial for inventory management and personalized customer experiences. These technical shortcomings became apparent during peak shopping periods, where the inability to scale effectively led to missed opportunities and challenges in maintaining the high level of customer service synonymous with the Notcutts name. The need for a robust system seamlessly integrating with existing Mercatus and Epicor data and providing a scalable solution to accommodate traffic surges became increasingly critical.

The Solution

Our agency embarked on a comprehensive digital overhaul for Notcutts, choosing Adobe Magento as the foundation for its new ecommerce platform. This platform was selected for its flexibility, customization capabilities, and ability to integrate seamlessly with Notcutts' server-side systems, including Mercatus and Epicor. Collaborating closely with Preact for data migration, we also integrated Microsoft Dynamics into Magento, achieving real-time synchronization across Notcutts’ operational systems for the first time. Additionally, we developed a bespoke loyalty system directly within Magento, enhancing customer engagement by syncing with CRM and ERP systems. To further support Notcutts’ growth, we introduced advanced promotional tools and a Privilege customer management system, streamlining administrative tasks and enriching the customer experience.
